Role of Rajasthan Home Guard 2025
The Home Guards function as a supplementary force to the Police, assisting in the maintenance of internal security and responding to various emergencies, including air raids, fires, cyclones, earthquakes, and epidemics. They also play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of essential services, fostering communal harmony, aiding the administration in safeguarding vulnerable populations, and participating in law enforcement activities.
There are two categories of Home Guards: urban and border. In addition, Border Wing Home Guards (BWHG) Battalions have been established to support the Border Security Force. In Rajasthan, the total number of Home Guards stands at 30,714, comprising 28,050 Urban Home Guards and 2,664 Border Home Guards. The organization recruits eligible youth from the State, aiming to cultivate a sense of national security, discipline, and selfless service among them.
