AFCAT Application Form for the year 2025

AFCAT Examination: Categories of Commission
The AFCAT examination is administered to provide the following two categories of commissions:
- Permanent Commission (PC) for Men: Candidates who are appointed as PC officers will serve until they reach the age of superannuation in their respective branches according to their rank.
Short Service Commission (SSC) for Men & Women
- The duration of engagement for Flying Branch (Men and Women) SSC Officers is 14 years from the date of commissioning (non-extendable).
- The initial term for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers is ten years, with a possible extension of four years based on service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit.

AFCAT 2025 Recruitment Procedure
The Indian Air Force will dispatch call letters to all candidates who successfully pass the AFCAT 2 2025, inviting them to participate in the second stage of selection, namely AFSB Testing.
AFSB Testing Stage 1
- This stage comprises the following two assessments:
- Officer Intelligence Rating Test.
- Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)
- Stage 1 is referred to as the screening test, and candidates who do not succeed in this stage will be disqualified and will not advance to AFSB Testing Stage 2.
AFSB Testing Stage 2
- All candidates who qualify in Stage 1 must attend AFSB Stage 2 and complete the following evaluations:
- Psychological Tests: These are written assessments conducted by qualified psychologists.
- Group Tests: These assessments include both mental and physical activities designed to evaluate candidates across various mental and physical criteria.
- AFSB Interview: During this phase, the interviewing officer conducts a personal interview with the candidate.
- Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test: This assessment is compulsory solely for those candidates who have applied for the Flying Branch.
