Selection Procedure for Karnataka RTE Admission 2025-26

Age Criteria in Karnataka RTE Admission 2025-26
Following the recommendations of the State Education Policy Committee, the Karnataka government has decided to reduce the age requirement for Class 1 admission to 5.5 years for the academic year 2025-26. Beginning with the next academic year, the minimum age for Class 1 will be set at 6 years, a change from the previous minimum age of 5.5 years. It is noteworthy that this modification to the minimum age was implemented in July 2022.
To be eligible for admission to the LKG class, children must be at least 4 years old and no older than 6 years. For Class 1, the age requirement is a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 8 years. Applications must comply with these age criteria.
