KVS Admission Guidelines & Schedule 2025-26
The KVS Admission Guidelines and Admission Schedule for the academic year 2025-26 are enclosed with this covering letter. The maximum class size for all grades, from Balvatika to XII, will be set at 40 students per section.
KVS Advertisement by Regional Office 2025-26
The enclosed draft advertisement, prepared in both Hindi and English, is intended for distribution by the Regional Office in newspapers and on the website to ensure extensive publicity. It is imperative that this advertisement be published in newspapers, including those in the local language, as a matter of priority and without delay.
KVS Admission to Newly opened KVs 2025-26
All Kendriya Vidyalayas that are newly established until February 2025 will facilitate Class I admissions exclusively through the online OLA Portal, while admissions for other classes will be conducted in offline mode only. The admission schedule for Class II and subsequent classes (offline), as outlined in the Admission Schedule for 2025-26, will not apply to these institutions, as they are required to admit a full strength of 40 students.
KVS Admission to Class II onwards 2025-26
Any available vacancies from Class II onwards must be posted on the Vidyalaya websites and social media platforms, including Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), as well as on the Notice Board by the Principal of the respective Kendriya Vidyalayas before the registration process begins. The Deputy Commissioner of the Region is responsible for personally verifying that this information is displayed.
Documents Verification KV Admission 2025-26
Principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas within the region are instructed to meticulously examine the documents submitted for admission, including the Certificate of Date of Birth as proof of age, the Service Certificate of the parent to ascertain the priority category, Address Proof, Certificate of Disability for Children with Special Needs (CwSN), and Caste Certificate, if applicable.
Due to instances of fraudulent document submissions and incorrect age entries, this office has been necessitated to revoke the admissions of certain students in Kendriya Vidyalayas and to initiate administrative actions against the responsible Principals. Therefore, the admission committee and Principals of all Kendriya Vidyalayas are to be directed to thoroughly verify all documents prior to granting admission to students. Any discrepancies discovered at a later stage may result in complications and warrant serious consequences.
KVs with Balvatika Classes: KVs where Balvatika classes have started
In Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) where Balvatika-1, 2, and 3 are operational, admissions for Balvatika-1 will be conducted exclusively through an online platform. Likewise, in KVs that have Balvatika-3, admissions will also take place online for Balvatika-3.
Students transitioning from Balvatika-3 will be automatically promoted to Class I. In these KVs, one section of Class I will be eliminated from the online admission process. Should vacancies occur in the section with students promoted from Balvatika-3, candidates from the relevant waitlists, determined by the online draw of lots for the remaining sections, will be admitted according to their priority category.
In KVs that have only one section, online applications for Class I admission will not be accepted. If vacancies arise, admissions will be carried out offline in accordance with the schedule designated for Class II and higher.
In KVs where Balvatika-1, 2, and 3 are operational, all regulations pertaining to Class I admissions will apply to Balvatika-1. For Balvatika-2 and 3, the regulations for admissions from Class II onwards will be in effect. Fresh admissions in these classes will only be permitted if the class size is below 40.
In KVs where only Balvatika-3 is operational, all Class I admission regulations applicable to KVs will also be relevant for Balvatika-3.
Other important points For KV School Admission
Several additional considerations should be taken into account when addressing admission cases, which can be summarized as follows.
- Cases classified under priority categories I to IV in Civil/Defence KVs and categories I to V in Project/IHL KVs, where parents seek admission for their children in the KVs at the location where they plan to reside after retirement, will be processed in accordance with paragraph 7(A)(i) of PART A of the KVS Admission Guidelines.
- Requests for transferring to a different KV within the same academic year of admission will not be considered initially, except in circumstances where a government employee has been transferred or has moved to government housing after the child’s admission.
- Regular classes for Balvatika and Class 1 are scheduled to begin on 01.04.2025. Additional information regarding Online Admissions and other relevant details will be communicated separately. This notice is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
