Brihanmumbai Home Guard Registration 2025

Objective: To increase the number of civilians and soldiers in the nation, along with establishing arrangements for emergency relief efforts. The Home Guard Organization aims to cultivate responsible and disciplined citizens through safety training.

  1. Home Guard Membership: The Home Guard organization in Maharashtra operates on a volunteer basis and does not provide wages. Membership does not equate to employment. Individuals can join for a period of three years, and based on their service quality, they may be re-enrolled in subsequent three-year phases until they reach the age of 58.
  2. Duties of Home Guard Members: Home Guard members do not have assigned daily duties. Instead, they are called upon by the police as needed for tasks such as maintaining law and order, collaborating with police teams, firefighting, rescue operations, and providing assistance during emergencies or health crises.
  3. Penalty: Although Home Guard members are not assigned daily duties, they are expected to be prepared for urgent situations. According to Section 7 (1) of the Mumbai Home Guard Act 1947, members who are absent without justification, fail to perform their duties, or do not comply with orders may face a fine of up to Rs. 250 or a maximum of three months of simple imprisonment.
  4. Home Guard Promotion: There are no fees associated with Home Guard promotions. To obtain membership, individuals must follow specific procedures (Vashila or Latch). If anyone encounters demands for bribery or corruption, they should report it to the Superintendent of the Anti-Prohibition Office in Brihanmumbai, the Honorable Commander of the Home Guard in Brihanmumbai, or the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Armed Police Taddeo, Mumbai.

Part One Information regarding filling registration application in Maharashtra Home Guard 2025

  1. The application for Home Guard Registration is scheduled for December 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The deadline for submission is January 10, 2025, at 9:00 PM. Applicants are required to complete the application form available at https://maharashtracdhg.gov.in/mahahg/enrollmentform.php, ensuring that it is filled out exclusively in English or other languages. If applying in Marathi, the applicant assumes responsibility for any technical issues that may arise. It is essential to provide accurate information when completing the application, particularly the Aadhaar card number and date of birth, which must be entered systematically. Each candidate should use their unique Aadhaar card number to submit the application.
  2. Only candidates residing within the Mumbai Suburban Railway district are eligible to apply. Applications from individuals in other districts will be accepted at a later date.
  3. After submitting the application, candidates should print the registration form or obtain a photocopy from the available menu. This document will include all the information provided by the candidates. The selection process is straightforward, and the candidate’s name will be automatically recorded in Marathi. Any additional information must be included in the application.
  4. The final date for submitting the online application is January 10, 2025, at 9:00 PM. Following the review of applications, the schedule for document verification and the physical efficiency test will be announced.
  5. For the Document Verification and Physical Efficiency Test, candidates must attach a photocopy of all required documents, as outlined in Part A, signed by themselves, with their application. The application will be automatically accepted upon registration. Both photographs and original documents will be necessary for verification during the registration process.
  6. Candidates are required to attend the registration at their own cost. Any injuries sustained during the registration process or throughout their stay will be the sole responsibility of the candidate.
  7. The final selection of eligible candidates will be based on merit relative to the available positions. Candidates with similar qualifications will be prioritized based on seniority. Additionally, selection will consider age-appropriate levels, educational qualifications, and technical certifications.
  8. Home Guards who have been dismissed from service due to incompetence or who have been convicted in a court of law by the previous Home Guard Organization are not eligible to apply for Home Guard registration. Only those Home Guards who have voluntarily resigned and have fulfilled the required duties will be eligible for relief without the need to apply.
